Sensofusion Aerospace

Taking Counter-Drone Systems into the air and Earth Orbit.

Sensofusion Aerospace – the aviation and space business of Sensofusion.

The unit develops airborne and orbital systems for signal monitoring and counter-drone operations, extending Sensofusion’s ground-based capability into the air and into Earth orbit.

Our active development programs are the Sensofusion Swift surveillance aircraft and our first satellite missions, Sensofusion Fennec-1 and Sensofusion Fennec-2.

Sensofusion Swift – signal intelligence that can fly in peacetime airspace

Sensofusion Swift is a type-certified general aviation aircraft with integrated radio intelligence capability. Unlike unmanned systems, Swift can operate in peacetime airspace near airports and populated areas without separate exemptions or special permits.

One platform, two ways to operate it

Sensofusion Swift is both an aircraft and a drone. It can be acquired and operated either as a manned general aviation aircraft or as an unmanned system. This gives procuring organizations flexibility on both budget and regulation: the aircraft fits the budgets for aircraft procurement as well as for drone procurement, and the same platform can be flown by a human operator or by autopilot, in line with the regulations of the destination country.

Planes and satellites, Made in Finland

The aircraft is based on the Atol Aurora aircraft design. The Swift aircraft are manufactured at Halli Airfield, a former Finnish Air Force base. Each aircraft is fitted with the Airfence counter-drone system, a radar and counter-drone interception capability. An airborne sensor typically reaches three to five times the range of a ground-based sensor. Sensofusion satellites are built in our HQ in Vantaa, Finland.

Sensofusion Fennec: monitoring from orbit

The Fennec satellite program brings Sensofusion’s monitoring capability to Earth orbit. Fennec‑1 will demonstrate our capability to detect weak terrestrial signals from space. Fennec‑2 expands the payload and moves to Sensofusion’s new satellite platform, serving as the first step towards a larger constellation. The first satellite will be launched into orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon rocket in autumn 2027.

Research, development and manufacturing

Sensofusion Aerospace covers the full path from research and product development to manufacturing. Our facilities combine aircraft production with satellite payload and platform development.
